1965 Corvette Roadster
I am offering for sale a 1965 Corvette Roadster, serial number 194675S109538. I have owned this vehicle since 1980. I completely disassembled this car to the frame, completing the restoration in 1984. As the car was very low mileage and had only one previous owner I was able to refinish rather than replace many of the original parts. Suspension, engine, transmission, differential, all rebuilt using GM parts purchased at a local dealer.
I have records for this car including the original bill of sale and all service and repair records from the original owner. Obviously this is a numbers matching car. The only things that are non GM are the front rugs, battery, and tires. The original spare is still in the carrier. The only bolts that are not original are inside the engine and in the suspension. All other fasteners were cleaned painted and reused. The one piece fuel line I purchased from Zip Products. GM parts were available right down to the exhaust hangers in the early eighties.
When I titled the car in 1982 the mileage was 49,000. Today the mileage is 54,125. It has been my joy to own this vette all these years and now it is time to pass it to the next generation. I have a ton of documentation which goes with the car. The car is outfitted with a 1967 vinyl top. The original owner purchased the car without a hardtop and then two years later decided to purchase one. He thought the goldwood yellow paint would look good with the black vinyl top and that as they say was that.
I refinished the car using DuPont Lacquer in the original formula. Obviously as a long time owner I am prejudiced; however it is my opinion that you will have to do a lot of searching to find a better example. The engine is a 327/300; the transmission is a Muncie M22 four speed. I put cast aluminum valve covers on the engine; the original steel Chevy orange valve covers are safe in a box. I have a complete photographic record of the restoration, thanks to my wife who just didn’t want to hear about it anymore. Pictures on request, will talk vettes at any time! 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray - 425HP Big Block
This car is what a `Vette is all about. This car has a very rare JJ paint code. According to Chevrolet there were only five cars to roll out in 1965 with this paint code. How many were Big Blocks? The JJ code denotes 1 of 5 cars that left the factory with "un-specified Paint or in Primer". Some say this car may have been ordered by a race team because of the options; Radio Delete, Knock-off rims Side-Pipes, 396 425Hp, and M-22 Muncie 4 Speed.
